Our Origin story

“I just made that up! But that’s probably what they’re gonna start to call people like Roy. But Roy’s not a desk rabbit; he’s my best friend, and unless you do something, it’s just going to be you, me, and Tim Burton over there!”

Rabbits…

When you think about agility, very few things are faster and smarter than rabbits. Their lives depend on their ability to make split-second decisions and change direction in an instant to avoid certain death from their predators.

So when we created a home on the web that centres around Agile practices, the term “deskrabbit” seemed like a perfect fit. Besides the fact that it has the word “rabbit” in it, it also comes from the funniest and most accurate IT-based sitcom ever, The IT Crowd.

Sometimes you come across things that just make sense, and that’s how DeskRabbit got started.

Our Audience

We want to present Agile topics in a way that is both informative and highlights the humour in almost all cases. We are not Agile evangelists. We understand that in reality, almost no project has the luxury of following Agile fundamentals in every aspect.

Since Agile methodologies are becoming more popular amongst businesses, we wanted to create a space where real-world experience could be brought into the mix and talk about how things are done in the wild, rather than how things “should be” done in a textbook.

Our audience is anyone who is interested in, or who currently works in an Agile environment.
